Delta Air Lines held an number of events in Sydney last week for media, trade, clients and consumers, to introduce Delta’s two new luxury cabins to the Australian market; the Delta One Suites and Delta Premium Select, flying from Sydney to Los Angeles daily.

On Tuesday, media and VIP’s gathered at ‘The View’ in Sydney, with an industry event held the following night, both presided over by celebrity MC Richard Reid.

Scott Santoro, Delta’s Vice President – Los Angeles and West Sales said at last weeks’ events,

“Ten years since the launch of our service to Los Angeles, we’re upgrading the customer experience in a big way with our Boeing 777 aircraft and the Australia-U.S. debut of the award-winning Delta One Suite.

“Along with the Suite, we’ve invested throughout the aircraft with the addition of Delta Premium Select – which offers greater recline, a leg rest and elevated onboard service – and our commitment to offer nine-abreast seating in Main Cabin, so our customers will have a great experience no matter which product they choose.”

The Delta One Suite features a full-height sliding door at every suite, with sliding privacy dividers between centre suites, 180 degree flat-bed seats, customisable ambient lighting, and a high-resolution in-flight entertainment screen. Customers seated in Delta Premium Select will benefit from dedicated service, additional space with retractable foot and leg rests, seat-back in-flight entertainment, plated meals and distinguished amenities like LSTN noise-cancelling headphones and a TUMI amenity kit.

Event guests were  invited to take a virtual reality trip onboard the new aircraft to experience the upgraded customer journey.

Delta also ran a consumer activation over the last month with the public invited to enter a competition to board the ‘Delta Fleet’, luxury vans recreating the Delta inflight experience, and captained by Richard Reid. Riders had to successfully complete a U.S.A themed quiz to win their way to L.A

Delta celebrated the launch by offering an incredible airfare sale of $777 return from Sydney to Los Angeles in an activation in Pitt Street Mall last Friday in conjunction with Flight Centre.
