A NYC & Company delegation has spent the week of May 6-10 in Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast meeting and training agents as part of an Australian Sales Mission for business development and education.

The Mission incorporated a range of training sessions, educationals and events over the week with the aim of the NYC & Company Mission to train agents on the depth and breadth of new and classic products in New York.

Managing Director, Tourism Development, Established Markets for NYC & Company, Reginald Charlot, said, “We are so thrilled to be back in Australia and with some incredible products to showcase.”

“‘We are calling 2019 ‘A Monumental Year’ and the Mission will spotlight New York City as a must-visit destination in 2019/20.  There are several large-scale developments and openings set to debut along with new hotels, attractions, dining, retail, culture as well as NYC hosting World Pride in June 2019, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Stonewall – the beginning of the modern day gay rights movement”.

“We know it’s a lot to keep up with the ever-changing NYC landscape – each year there are so many hotel openings, new attractions and products or exhibitions to see.  We wanted to bring some of the new and classic NYC to Australia for a range of update experiences.”

This year’s delegation included Bike Rent NYC, Empire State Building, Hilton New York Midtown, Hudson Yards and The Ride, in partnership with Delta Air Lines and Virgin Australia.

In 2018, New York City welcomed 720,000 Australians many of which were repeat visitor.  This contributed to a total global visitation record of 65.2 million people welcomed in 2018.
