The Walshe Group, Australia and New Zealand’s most established destination and aviation representation company, celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026. The 1 February 2026 marks five decades of shaping demand, building partnerships, and supporting sustainable growth for airline and tourism brands around the world.
Founded in 1976 by Rodney Walshe, The Walshe Group has grown from a small, entrepreneurial operation into a globally respected airline GSA and tourism representation business, working across multiple markets. Today, the company represents a diverse portfolio of leading international airlines, national and regional destinations, and has an inbound tourism arm, underpinned by a long-standing commitment to partnership, performance, and industry leadership.
Reflecting on the milestone, founder Rodney Walshe said the company’s success had always been driven by people and relationships.
“When I started The Walshe Group 50 years ago, the vision was simple: to build trusted partnerships and deliver meaningful results for our clients,” said Walshe. “The fact that the business has endured and evolved across five decades is a testament to the strength of those relationships, the dedication of our people, and a willingness to adapt as the industry has changed.”
Today, The Walshe Group is led by CEO and Managing Director Jacqui Walshe, who has overseen a period of continued growth, diversification, and strategic evolution, including an increased focus on responsible and regenerative tourism practices.
“Reaching our 50th year is a significant moment for The Walshe Group,” says Jacqui. “It reflects not only our longevity, but our relevance. Over five decades, the industry has transformed dramatically, and we have continued to evolve alongside it—embracing new markets, new technologies, and new ways of supporting destinations and airlines in a more responsible and sustainable way.”
As part of the anniversary, The Walshe Group will roll out a year-long program of activity throughout 2026, including industry engagement, partner celebrations, and internal events recognising the contribution of its global team. The program will also look ahead, reinforcing the company’s role in shaping the future of airline sales and destination marketing.
“While this is a moment to reflect on our history, it is equally about the future,” Jacqui Walshe added. “Our focus remains on delivering value for our partners, investing in our people, and contributing positively to the future of tourism for the next 50 years and beyond.”
